The 'BSHA Martin Wood Supreme In Hand Breeding Championship' has qualifiers around the country and culminates with a Supreme Championship and £1000 to the winner.

Sarah Carey, In Hand Chairman for the BSHA, says 'This is all very exciting and I'm hoping that more shows will begin to put breeding classes on and encouraged by a Championship like this hopefully generate more entries, after all, these classes are the breeders' shop window for the ridden horse of the future'.

Maxi Cob of the Year Championship

Grandstand Media has made the decision not to include any new classes in the HOYS timetable for 2010. This is due to the current economic situation. Sadly this means that there will not be a Maxi Cob Class at HOYS this year. The British Show Horse Association will be in continuing talks with Grandstand Media about a new Championship in the future.

The Maxi Cob Final will be held at the National Championship Show and qualification is as the Classic Supreme classes.

 Dress Code

We understand that the new Dress Code may cause a few misunderstandings, in particular with regard to Riding Horse Classes – please note that Tweed is correct for both ladies and gentlemen however ladies may wear black or blue coats so please ladies do not go out and buy a new blue or black coat!  Hats - the wearing hats with chin straps is acceptable and indeed some shows insist on this - please check individual show rules.  This Code is meant as a guide line only and is not a hard and fast rule.

For everyone wishing to qualify for the HOYS please note:

A reminder for those of you wishing to qualify for Horse of the Year Show, you must have paid the £15 HOYS fee BEFORE entering a qualifying class but please note this is a one off fee for the entire season. To confirm that you have paid check your horse registration card on the top right corner inside – if you have paid it will say ‘HOYS Reg Fee Paid’
